ViriCiti now monitors all electric buses for Capital Metro

Capital Metro, the regional public transportation provider in Austin, Texas, announced last month that it reached yet another important milestone on its road to a zero-missions future with the addition of 5 new electric buses.

The transit agency now has 11 electric buses on the roads of Austin, all monitored using ViriCiti’s EV telematics platform.

ViriCiti is extremely proud to be Capital Metro’s partner, one of the country’s forerunners when it comes to reducing transport-related emissions and transitioning to sustainable transportation.

In between 2016 and 2019 alone, Capital Metro managed to reduce its emissions by an impressive 52%. This year, the agency also announced that is uses 100% Texas wind energy to power all its facilities.1

Furthermore, the agency has the ambitious goal of full electrification before 2035. To achieve this, the agency plans to integrate over 200 e-buses in its fleet in the next 5 years!

ViriCiti is happy to be its partner in this ambitious fight for reducing emissions and going away from fossil-fuel dependency.
